Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals require a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In cases of any discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Marple, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for those under 25. A valid full driving licence suitable for the chosen vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided. Additional requirements specified in the Rental Agreement must be met.
Reservations and Payments
- Reservations for Marple Car Hire can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our local office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely with trusted payment services.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required. Any pre-existing damage must be reported immediately, and a vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same condition as when it was collected, subject to normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling fees will be incurred if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that occur during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. For comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts, please refer to the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability, so review these carefully. You will be liable for damages or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further insurance is purchased. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms rests with you, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For accurate information regarding these policies, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. It's important to be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, or off-roading, as well as transporting hazardous materials. Sub-letting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, exceeding weight or passenger limits, and operating outside designated geographical areas without permission are also violations of our policy.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Marple will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Your ongoing use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
